Okay, so the first time i read it, it was flawless, obviously, but now that i've read it about 2.75 times, i think i'll actually do a decent book review. So here goes.

Charecters:

Jason: Actually, he was my least favorite charecter. I mean, i found myself dreading the next chapter when i knew it was going to be in Jason's POV. I thought it was kinda boring, i mean, there were very minimal times when he was thinking something. He was just mostly describing the things around him. There were a few thoughts, but i guess i can excuse that, since he had amnesia anyway.

Piper: She was probably the liveliest charecter in my opinion, i liked her dialogue, and especially at the end, when she ended the Aphrodite Cabin's ridiculous corruption. Also, i liked how she could be really selfless in subtle ways, if you get what im talking about. Also, i liked that she was sort of rebellious. At first, i wasn't sure why she was in the Aphrodite cabin, but i realized that her beauty was supposed to be shown through her confidence. (ik, i couldn't be cornier.)

Leo: I Luved Him!! Especially the sarcastic sense of humor. It was pretty awesome. Also, his backstory was rather interesting, like how Gaea personally killed his mother, and Tia Callida who raised him. (hera)I dont have a hard time believing that Leo is going to be a large part of the main prophecy.

Overall:

There were a few things i didnt like, though. First of all, the book was a bit sad. I mean, Percy's narration was always so uplifting and funny, but the new trio's thoughts were always plagued with sadness. I mean, Leo always grieved for his mother, Piper feared for her almost gone insane because of Encleadus dad, and Jason had post amnesia trauma or something. And sadly, Leo's dry and sometimes sarcastic sense of humor did nothing to make it better. Also, i found some rather random statements dropped in here and there. No offense to Rick R, but i think he is just putting out this series for the money. The same talent that was in PJO is still there, but a little bit less interesting. Also, there were a lot of loose strands, like the part about Midas and Medea were needed, but somewhat unnessacary. They just seemed like too much info.

Other:

I did, though, like the book cover, with jason, piper, leo and festus on it, with Midas's mansion in the background. Also the title font. =P

I enjoyed annabeth, rachel and thalia's apperances, some of the old charecters, and how he described the new wing of cabins. Also Aphrodite and Hepheaustus's appearances in their kid's dreams.

To me, the prophecy played out too simply. There were not too many twists, like in The Titans curse when Bianca died and only later did they realize that was a line of the prophecy. There was nothing like that.

I liked the end, and i cant wait to find out more about Jason's past (including the girl named Reyna=D)and what happens to Percy. My only question is, is this the "bang" that this series was supposed to start with? As in, if this is a beginning of what is to come, then im not super happy about that. I really hope it gets a little bit more enjoyable, and not as sad and grieving this one was. I mean, its not a sad book or anything, but if you look closely, their thoughts were never happy, or excited. Maybe im just thinking too much? =) probably.

So, thats my rant. class dismissed....almost. First you have to comment. Tell me what you think. Agree, Disagree, whatever. Please? With the 1st copy of The Son of Neptune on top? =) Thanks!
